Landscove Area Guide

A small, active and friendly village nestled in the rolling countryside between Totnes and Ashburton reached via some small winding lanes it is a little more off the beaten track than the other villages close to Totnes. Like many rural communities there is a thriving and popular pub ‘The Live and Let Live’ at its heart, frequented by both locals and those from farther afield.  There is also an outstanding primary school, a lovely church and Hill House Gardens a highly-regarded plant Nursery together with lovely café. The Victory Hall – which is the village hall, is used by a variety of organisations and groups plus also has a monthly breakfast market and various other events for the community.

Also on the outskirts of Landscove is Anran, which offers fabulous  boutique accommodation in either the Manor or Barns and which is also the most stunning venue available for hire, which is both luxury in a wonderfully understated way and all in a totally magical setting. Finally leading on out of the village and before reaching the A385 is the Riverfield Field Kitchen, which is another unforgettable experience and serves as they put it a veg-centric seasonal feast, all made with ingredients grown on the doorstep.

All in all Landscove is another idyllic South Hams village offering lots of varied activities and wonderful places to stay and visit, surrounded by beautiful orchards and countryside and one which can often be overlooked.
