The year ended on a positive note for holiday homes in the South West with the majority of our previous buyers seeing an uplift in lettings for 2013 but more importantly seeing over 20% increase in future bookings for this summer.
We sold 81 properties last year to buyers from all over the country wanting a holiday home in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset and with 24 properties under offer going into 2014 we are looking at another record year.
We are estimating that prices will start to rise this year as the stock levels fall in our niche market and feel that a price rise of between 3% and 5% will be seen by the end of the year. With more potential buyers registering with us than ever before we have seen that budgets have increased from last year as people look for larger properties to fulfill their needs.
The trend for fully managed properties on resort type developments will continue as buyers want the comfort of having on site management for their holiday homes. There was a marked interest in Una St Ives over the Christmas period and with the first courtyard taking bookings for the summer and the leisure building finished in June we feel this will be one of our bestsellers this year.
