The village has a small harbour with two beaches and a Beach Caf serving traditional Cornish grub. In nearby Crafthole, a short walk up the hill there is a community shop, post office and the Finnygook Inn which serves locally sourced produce and ale.   The area is particularly attractive to those who enjoy the outdoors. Whitsand Bay links golf course is literally on your doorstep which has some challenging holes overlooking the Atlantic coastline. You will see surfers along the beach at all times of the year, divers exploring the local wrecks, fishing off the rocks at Rame, coarse fishing from a nearby lake and walkers exploring the coastal paths. If youre in need of a little culture, there is approx. a five minute drive to Torpoint with a short ferry crossing into the city of Plymouth. Also the Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, an 800 acre area of coastal woodland and open hillsides, is possibly one of the most beautiful and varied locations of Cornwall is only 8 miles distant.

From M5 take A38 to Plymouth. Follow signs for Liskeard. Stay on the A38 to Cornwall, pass through Landrake and Tideford. At Trerulefoot, take direction Plymouth, Torpoint and Looe. Carry on through Polbathic, turn right to Crafthole and look for a sign for Portwrinkle 1/2 mile, turn right. All distances are approx.
