The Rame Peninsula is totally unspoilt and quite unique and sometimes referred to as Cornwall’s ‘forgotten corner’ with its winding lanes, small villages and pretty coves. Portwrinkle was traditionally a fishing village and the old 17th century walls of the pilchard cellars are still standing. The village has a small harbour with two beaches and a Beach Caf serving traditional Cornish grub. In nearby Crafthole, a short walk up the hill there is a community shop, post office and the Finnygook Inn which serves locally sourced produce and ale. The area is particularly attractive to those who enjoy the outdoors. Whitsand Bay links golf course is literally on your doorstep which has some challenging holes overlooking the Atlantic coastline. You will see surfers along the beach at all times of the year, divers exploring the local wrecks, fishing off the rocks at Rame, coarse fishing from a nearby lake and walkers exploring the coastal paths. If youre in need of a little culture, there is approx. a five minute drive to Torpoint with a short ferry crossing into the city of Plymouth. With the sea never far away the maritime heritage of the area is rich. There are several places where you can hire canoes and explore the creeks and coves. Also the Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, an 800 acre area of coastal woodland and open hillsides, is possibly one of the most beautiful and varied locations of Cornwall is only 8 miles distant.
Should you wish to let your home out when you are not using it there is a full on site management and letting service provided. The Guillemot houses are available with full residential use. So whether its surfing the swell, a cappuccino and the Sunday papers at the Beach Cafe or a round of golf followed by a pint at the local, the choice is yours.
